I pass this store on my walk to work every morning, and I have yet to pay a visit, since its always closed in the morning. A Distant Origin is located on Mercer Street, and judging by the window, they have some amazing accent pieces the home from not so easy to get to destinations.
This clip from the first issue of Domino has stuck with me, the black chinoiserie chairs paired with the lucite table is awesome. CB2 has some great lucite style tables if you are looking for an affordable version of the lucite table. via This Is Glamorous
Textiles add so much character to a room, and a great place to find some without getting on a plane is at LaViva Home. Laura Aviva has a nicely curated selection of textiles from around the world including the Mexican bedspread seen above.

welcome.
I have decided to start this blog for a couple of reasons. For one, as a graphic designer, I don't spend much time practicing my writing, and as a result, I've begun to see the effects in my execution of everyday things such as e-mails and the occasional letter.
I also happen to really enjoy the world of interiors, particularly those of homes near beaches, jungles, and islands. I was born and raised in Miami, and have been living in New York on and off for seven years. As of next week, I will be returning to Miami, and hope to gather some reference and inspiration here for when the time comes to set up my own tropical abode. Enjoy.
